Our programs work to increase the political voice and well-being of communities of color, and build multiracial unity across Florida through issue campaigns including democratic rights, criminal justice reform, climate, gender, housing, and immigrant justice.
Florida Rising Together works with allies and partners to maintain a statewide presence in these areas, with a regional focus on:
Orange County
Osceola County
Seminole County
Hillsborough County
Pinellas County
Polk County
Duval County
Gadsen County
Leon County
Broward County
Miami-Dade County
Palm Beach County
We believe that our government should work for all of us. Our communities won’t be stopped by barriers, voter suppression, or attempts to take away our vote. We educate, register, and mobilize voters as one key way of holding politicians accountable and making our voices heard, as well as creating voter education campaigns and encouraging Black and Brown voter participation.
We are fighting for a clean, safe, and healthy planet, and the people on it. We want a regenerative future and a just transition that puts frontline communities at the center of energy policy, disaster response, food policy, and all climate change initiatives.
We believe everyone has a right to healthy, quality, affordable housing. We work with marginalized communities to fight for development that doesn’t displace us, renters’ rights, improvement of housing conditions, fight against skyrocketing rents, and demand quality affordable housing for all.
Our strategies include holding landlords, government, and corporate developers accountable for the housing crisis they helped to create.
Women and femmes should have the autonomy and freedom to make decisions about their bodies and recognize their full existence. We fight back against policies and practices that seek to control and restrict women and femmes’ bodies and the resources that serve us.
